Unfortunately for them, I’ve called it quits.

We’ve been together since November 2005, 10 good years!

I wanted someone new, fresh, alive, different, challenging and solution oriented — and someone I could easily get along with.

However, the great thing about it, we parted on good ground.  So fuss no muss, an amicable separation.

Goodbye, Aweber…

In case, you’re wondering why I made the switch after 10 years.

Honestly, I really did want to try something fresh.  I looked at GetResponse and Mailchimp and although both are good autoresponder systems, I didn’t feel like I was “home” with either one, especially MailChimp because they froze my account when I used an affiliate URL in my broadcast and kept it froze for more than 4 days, uh… that’s a complete no-no for me.  Bye, bye!

As for Getresponse, I didn’t “pop” for me and I used that system for almost a year with a JV deal.

In case you’re wondering who I’m dating now, meet…

ConvertKit

convertkitI chose ConvertKit because I saw Pat Flynn at Smart Passive Income talking about leaving Aweber going to Infusionsoft leaving there and ending up at ConvertKit.  Then I asked my PLR friend, Ruth Pound about it. I value their opinions and liked what I saw and the rest is the beginning of a new relationship.

So, now on to the handsome features…

  • super easy import (no confirmations required)!
  • creating the form(s) was SO easy to do!
  • create amazing landing pages!
  • my first broadcast was easy peasy!
  • looks UBER great on mobile!
  • looking at stats (open and click-thru rates) – love the view!
  • the fact that I can simply “re-send” the same email to unopened subscribers is pretty cool!
  • the segment feature allows you to group subscribers together for broadcasts (how cool is that?!!)
  • automation feature – for example, you can automate it to stop sending a pitch course, broadcast, etc. to someone once they make a purchase, send a down sell email only to the most interested buyers, subscribe someone to a new course with just a single click, etc.
  • oh and tag feature – that in itself is awesome power!  You can tag your subscribers and add them to courses (i.e., email series or course) – you have to see this!

The cons…

  • No templates!! ack!!! There are zero templates to choose from… meaning, no pretty templates made up, no images, etc.
  • I haven’t found the archive section yet (where I can let newer subscribers know about past newsletters), but, that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Besides, I’m sure they’re open to suggestions and they did mention in the help area a couple of times about some features are “not yet”, which means the possibility of surprises are on the horizon.

Yep, that’s it.  Mind you, I’ve only been using ConvertKit since today (December 28, 2015), so I’m sure there’s more I’ll see along the way.

So now you know the 411 regarding the “break-up.”  I hope you’ll wish me nothing but smooth sailing adventures, amazing challenges, fresh and alive date nights with ConvertKit in 2016. 😉
